The Ottawa YMCA offers an After School Program (ASP).
Children in this program must be ages Kindergarten through 6th grade and live
within the Ottawa Grade School District to be bussed to the program.
The YMCA After School Program is devoted for caring for school age children in a
healthy, fun, and educational environment. Our program is designed to open new
vistas to children and to develop self-esteem, social
awareness, and skills through varied activities that they may not normally
enjoy. Its purpose is to provide
a safe environment for school age children who need supervision.
ASP meets everyday after school. Children are bussed
here. Once arrived and attendance is taken,
children are provided a healthy snack. Children will participate in games,
crafts, sports, and quiet activities for unwinding after school. Homework time
is also offered. Friday are swim days. Please send your child with a
swim suit and towel.
After School Program is is held everyday after school,
on half days of school, and most full days off school. *There is no program the day after Thanksgiving or the week of Spring
Break.*
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for children who are unable to pay full cost.
Scholarships are made
possible by the United Way
and our Partners In Youth. Should you wish to apply
for a scholarship, contact the YMCA and a confidential form will be
given to you. Please specify
that is it for the
After School Program.
