Much Fun Preschool Class for 2 year olds!
It is the philosophy of the Ottawa YMCA Discovery
Preschool that early childhood should be a time
of warmth, security, exploring, and discovery. Preschool children are creative
and receptive; the
staff strives to nurture and encourage these qualities in the children who
attend.
Preschool's purpose is to provide an atmosphere that
encourages social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of a child as a
whole.
Classes run two days or three days a week;
Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu for 3 year olds
Mon/Wed/Fri or Tue/Thu for 4 year olds
Class
times are from 10:00am-12:15pm.
Admissions
The Ottawa YMCA Discovery Preschool is for children ages 3 to Kindergarten.
Admission requirements
are as follows:
1. A child must be 3 years old
to be admitted into the 3 year old class for Fall or Spring session.
2. Children in the 3 year old
class may not advance to the 4 year old class during the year
unless
authorized by the Director.
3. A child must be 4 years old
to be admitted into the 4 year old class for Fall or Spring session.
4. Classes are filled on a
first come, first serve basis according to the date of enrollment.
5. If classes are full, a
child's name will be put on the waitlist to fill vacancies as they occur.
As vacancies occur during the year, they are filled per the waitlist or new
registrations,
upon the approval of the Director.
6. Children may enter classes
on a month-to-month basis. The child must be turning the
appropriate age for class by, or within, that month.
Tuition
Tuition is figured as a monthly fee, able to be paid in nine monthly
payments due by the first of the month, beginning in September and ending in
May. Because it is a monthly fee, there are no refunds given for illness,
vacations, or snow days as they are not made up. All payments for preschool are
due by the first of the month.
There is a small fee due upon registration. This is a
one time fee.

Scholarships
Scholarships are available for children who are unable to pay full cost.
Scholarships are made
possible by the United Way and our Partners In Youth. Should you wish to apply
for a scholarship, contact the YMCA and a confidential form will be given to you. Please specify
that is it for the
Ottawa YMCA Discovery Preschool.
