Arts Is Out Of This World!

Kindergarten - 1st Grade:

Cost is $15/$30 per week
WEEK 1: Dynamic Drawing
June 21-25
Campers will engage their imaginations by drawing a
variety of different objects. Many types of drawing mediums will be used, such
as pastels and colored pencils. We will explore what makes objects look dynamic
and different.
WEEK 2: iPaint June 28-July 2
Campers will learn colors and use different types
of paint. This class will explore the style of realism and abstract painting.
Painters will learn how music influences their paintbrush.
WEEK 3: Mixed Media: Mix It Up! July
5-9
This unique camp gives participants the ability to
combine many styles of art. What do you get when you combine magazines,
newspapers, strips of fabric and paint splatter? You have to come to find out!
WEEK 4: Stand Out Sculpture July 12-16
Make your art STAND OUT among the rest! Campers
will work hands on with clay and other materials to create 3-D projects. This
week will challenge you to look at things in a different perspective.
The Art of Film
is a great way to learn to write, edit and act in class.
Instructor led, this camp will split the kids into groups to make 2-3 minute
infomercials for a product they come up with. In week 2, the kids will put
together a 5-7 minute newscast, sports or entertainment segment. On the last
night, we will host "Premiere Night" for families. All materials provided by the
YMCA. Open to children ages 9 and up.

Drama Camp
will let the kids' creative inner actor evolve in a week
of acting out plays and skits. This instructor led class will feature short
plays and dramatizations for you to act out. Learn how to project your voice,
pacing/pausing and playing the audience.
